STUDENTS

Summer (Undergrad and Grad)

  • Enrollments and enrollment appointments for Summer Sessions were available in the Enrollment card on the My Academics tab in CalCentral.
  • Summer Sessions’ classes descriptions were displayed next to each class on the Semesters card, also located on the My Academics tab.
  • Unit fees (tuition) for each session were due May 19 and if a cancellation for the term occurs, a $100 Term Cancellation fee would be applied.

Midterm Deficient Grades - My Academics - Semesters

  • Beginning March 6, students who received a deficient midterm grade would see this information on the Semesters card of the My Academics tab in CalCentral.

My Academics (Graduate Students) - Committee Card

  • The Committee card allowed graduate students to view members of their active qualifying examination, thesis, and/or dissertation committees.
  • The card provided a photo of each active committee member assigned to important academic milestones with departmental assignments, committee role, and contact information.
  • Completed committees would not be displayed during this release.
  • This partial Committee card functionality was supplemented with completed committee membership in a future enhancement.

ADVISORS

Summer - (Undergrad and Grad)

  • Enrollments for Summer Sessions began on February 1.
  • Students could now view their Summer appointments and enrollments via the Enrollment card in CalCentral.
  • Unit fees (tuition) for each session were due May 19 and if a cancellation for the term occured, a $100 Term Cancellation fee was applied.

Midterm Deficient Grades - My Academics - Semesters

  • Beginning March 6, students who received a deficient midterm grade would be able to access this information on the Semesters card of the My Academics tab in CalCentral.
  • Advisors would be able to see these grades with the “View As” functionality. Beginning in late-March, this information would be available to advisors in the Student Lookup > Student Overview Academic Plan card.

Student Overview - Academic Plan

  • The Academic Plan card allowed advisors to compare the courses listed on a student’s Multi-Year Planner with a student’s actual enrolled classes by semester.
  • This feature enabled advisors to identify when a student has altered their planned course toward graduation.

Student Overview - Degree Progress Card (Graduate)

  • The Degree Progress card highlighted Graduate Division milestones for masters and doctoral students (e.g., qualifying examination, advancement, filing dates, etc.).
  • This card would display the Graduate Division milestones along with dates and status of completion.
  • This information would be similar to that previously found in GLOW under “Academic History.”
  • This card was currently only available to graduate advisors. It was scheduled to be released to students in late-March.

FACULTY & INSTRUCTORS

My Academics - Committee Card

  • The Faculty Committee card allowed faculty to track the progress and status of the graduate students they were currently advising on qualifying examination, thesis, and/or dissertation committees.
  • Doctoral student information displayed on the Faculty Committee card included information regarding qualifying examination committee members.
  • Instructors would be able to track active and inactive memberships, providing helpful information for merit and promotion cases.

Midterm Deficient Grading - My Academics - Teaching Card

  • Beginning March 6, instructors would access the Midterm Grading Functionality with the Teaching card in the My Academics tab in CalCentral.
  • Units and GPA information displayed to students via CalCentral would be updated to display the information from the student information system.
