The SIS Project was implemented in seven launches from June 2015 to December 2016. From the beginning, the project was intentionally structured to coincide with the UC Berkeley student life cycle experience, beginning with fall semester 2016.

This schedule enabled the SIS Project team to optimize subject matter experts’ time and manage the impact of the change on campus. Each of the seven Go-Lives included five phases: design, configuration, system test, user acceptance testing, and ongoing support. Starting with Go-Live 5, SIS began additional “dot releases” (e.g., 5.1, 5.2, etc.) due to the sheer complexity of the new functionality.
